Aliénor : blouse à nœuds

Aliénor : blouse à nœuds

Price range: 14,00 € through 22,00 €

Aliénor is a romantic, bohemian-inspired blouse with bows.

The front and back yokes shape the neckline, while the gathered bodice flares out towards the high hip, creating volume.

I designed it to be easy to sew and versatile, so you can wear it all year round: with long or short sleeves, bows (with an optional underlap), or a combination of bows and buttons.

With this pattern, you can sew a classic version to wear to work or a more romantic one for leisurely summer days. Make it your own and adapt it to suit your style and your mood!

Aliénor: a royal name of medieval origin, evoking the nobility, elegance and strength of character of Aliénor of Aquitaine.

Shipping of the Aliénor packet patterns will begin on November 12. If you order other packet patterns at the same time, your entire order will be shipped from that date onwards.

Broderie anglaise will highlight its romantic design, while floral cotton will give it a more bohemian feel. Silk or lightweight, slightly sheer viscose will add a touch of elegance. As this design features gathers, avoid fabrics that are too thick.

How to style the Aliénor blouse?

The Aliénor blouse is an easy-to-wear piece that fits effortlessly into your everyday wardrobe. Paired with jeans it makes a casual look that’s perfect for everyday wear. Paired with high-waisted trousers (Edmond for example), it creates an elegant outfit, perfect for work. Sewn in the same fabric as a mini pair of elasticated-waist shorts, it becomes a chic loungewear top or even a stylish pyjama top.

FAQ

A sewing machine is all you need, an overlock machine is optional. The front and back yokes are lined. For neat, professional-looking seams on the inside of the garment, I recommend using French seams and bias-bound seam finishes.

The illustrated sewing guide includes a whole section dedicated to making adjustments. I’ll show you how to alter the length of the blouse or of the sleeves. Adjustment lines are clearly marked on the relevant pattern pieces to make these modifications as easy as possible.

I’ve always loved history, and I have a particular soft spot for royal names (spoiler alert!).

When I was just beginning to develop this design, I rewatched the Secrets d’Histoire episode about Aliénor of Aquitaine. I realised that her name had been on my list of “favourite names for sewing patterns” for years.

Aliénor of Aquitaine is one of the most fascinating women of the Middle Ages. Duchess of Aquitaine, Queen of France and later Queen of England, she left her mark on history through her intelligence and strength of character.

What more could I ask for!

For my versions of the blouse, I chose Swiss dot cotton and white cotton broderie anglaise. The first fabric comes from my personal fabric stash, while I found the second at a fabric shop in Paris, Tissus Reine. Unfortunately, this fabric isn’t available online.

Yes. It’s easy to lengthen the Aliénor blouse. You can do this using the length adjustment lines.

The Aliénor blouse sewing pattern is available in sizes 34 to 50.

Yes. When you purchase the Aliénor blouse PDF sewing pattern, you receive two different types of pattern sheets.

First, you’ll receive pattern sheets for a single size. These feature two sets of lines: finished garment lines and cutting lines. The finished garment lines are on the inside and show the outline of the completed garment. The cutting lines are on the outside and include the seam allowances.

Secondly, you’ll receive pattern sheets showing all sizes on the same sheets. These only include the cutting lines, with seam allowances included.

When you purchase the printed Aliénor blouse sewing pattern, you receive a large pattern sheet showing all sizes. This sheet only includes the cutting lines, with seam allowances included.

Yes. The PDF pattern sheets showing all sizes include layers, with one layer per size, so you can easily select the size or sizes you need.

The different sizes are also distinguished by color, with a different color for each size, on both the PDF pattern sheets and the printed pattern sheets.

Yes. The PDF sewing pattern is designed to be printed on A4 and US Letter paper. When printing, select « Actual Size » or « 100% » and « Auto Orientation » in your print settings to ensure the pattern is printed to the correct scale.
